[edit] History and Format

The show was first broadcast on 16th April 2007, at 6.pm, with an initial budget of €600,000 [1]. TV3 News @ 6.30 was axed, in order to make room in the schedule for the show, with Hollyoaks moving to 6.30. Also Lorriane Keane's entertainment update on TV3 News broadcasts was removed. The show's format is similar to that of American celebrity news and gossip programmes, such as E! News and Entertainment Tonight, covering events and celebrities in the entertainment industry. It is produced by TV3 and presented by Lorraine Keane - with a team of reporters conducting the interviews and attending various events. Occasionally guests may appear in the studio.

XPOSÉ primarily focuses on celebrity life in Ireland and around the world. Reporters cover home events including top awards ceremonies, film premieres, rock and pop concerts, fashion shows and interviews with Irish and international stars. XPOSÉ also has its own podcast.

Regular segments on the show include Daily Dish (a look at the major celebrity news stories), make-up tips with Jemma Kidd and Fashion Police. Each episode finishes by playing a music video. Mobile phone company 3 Ireland have sponsored the show since it first went on air[2].

The presenting team currently consists of Lorraine in the studio with Karen Koster, Aisling O' Loughlin, Lisa Cannon and Glenda Gilson as reporters. Gilson is a replacement presenter for Sybil Mulcachy, who is currently on maternity leave[3].

[edit] Pharrell Williams Walkout

Rapper Pharell Williams walked out of an interview with XPOSÉ reporter Karen Koster in October 2007, after she asked him if he would work again with the troubled popstar Britney Spears. He later returned and continued the interview. After the interview concluded he apologised to the presenter.[4]

[edit] Ratings

In February 2008 it was reported in the Irish Independent that Xposé had 68,000 viewers each night. [5] However according to the TV3 website, the show gets more than 100,000 viewers each weeknight[6]
