Hi, please don't remove Vfd headers from articles while they are being voted on. If you feel an article should stay, go to the voting page and join the discussion (and don't forget to sign your vote using 4 tilde signs (like this:~~~~) since unsigned votes will not be counted). Thanks, Ferkelparade π 13:55, 21 Dec 2004 (UTC)
- Hi, I've just retracted my Vfd nomination since Jammer in fact appears to be more notable than I initially thought. Unfortunately, the article as it existed is also a copyright violation - a new article on Jammer will have to be rewritten at Quentin Jammer/Temp since the old one has to be deleted. Sorry for the mixup - of course, once we have a new article that does not incorporate copyrighted text, we can keep that one :) -- Ferkelparade π 14:08, 21 Dec 2004 (UTC)

[edit] Dick Lane
just curious why you moved the article from "night train" -- that is how he was almost universally known in the day... no real objection, just curious. Pmeisel 21:03, 16 Feb 2005 (UTC)
- Thanks, makes sense to me.--Pmeisel 02:15, 19 Feb 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Please stop
Regarding this edit to the Al Franken article: Please stop removing content from Wikipedia. It is considered vandalism. If you want to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. Hall Monitor 19:25, 7 September 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Sam Cowart
Hi. I went back and looked at the deletion log and this is what I found: Sam Cowart is a NFL linebacker who currently plays for the Minnesota Vikings. While factual, the entry isn't much more than a single opening sentence (which someone researching the subject would know anyway) and was deleted due to lack of content.
On the other hand, you can use this to open up a more detailed article. It doesn't have to be huge at first, but it should contain some basic info such as biographical information, college, stats, other teams he's played with, records set or broken and so forth. Take a look at other NFL player-related articles to get an idea of how it should look. Thanks again for being civil about this. I hope this helped. - Lucky 6.9 17:40, 21 September 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Your report to WP:VIP
I've given the IP a {{nn-test}} message. If they continue please give them another warning. If they repeatedly persist after warnings you can report to WP:AIV. Petros471 18:24, 5 March 2006 (UTC)
PS. I noticed the only edits to you userpage are vandalism/you blanking it. If you want it deleted you can put on {{db-owner}} or {{db-vand}} and an admin will get rid of it. Petros471 18:24, 5 March 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Scissorfight
A tag has been placed on Scissorfight, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable (see the guidelines for notability here). If you can indicate why the subject of this article is notable, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please write {{hangon}}
on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself.
Please read the criteria for speedy deletion (specifically, articles #7) and our general biography criteria. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Missvain 06:13, 17 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Notability of Deadguy
Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Deadguy, by 156.34.235.195, another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Deadguy seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Deadguy, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Please note, this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion, it did not nominate Deadguy itself. Feel free to leave a message on the bot operator's talk page if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot. --Android Mouse Bot 2 14:30, 3 June 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Deletion of A Place To Bury Strangers
Perhaps you can be the super-hero Wikipedian that is able to determine why the stub for the band A Place To Bury Strangers was deleted. The band is certainly notable and the information I provided for the stub upon creating it was easily verifiable and contained five outside references within the text as well as seven external links towards articles about and/or interviews with the band. You marked the stub for deletion stating that it "meets none of the 12 criteria for musician notability". The first of the 12 criteria is that "It has been the subject of multiple non-trivial published works whose source is independent from the musician/ensemble itself and reliable." The very third inline reference (which was linked within the stub to an article in it original format on the original website) was from The Washington Post. There were also included six other links to outside articles, interviews and reviews.
I suspect that the stub was vandalized prior to your viewing it.
Additionally, it was a stub, not an article. The stub met the criteria based on the first rule; however the band itself meets the criteria on four counts--perhaps more. Thats why it is a stub, so others can add to it.
Unfortunately, the history is now gone because it was deleted; however the guidelines for deletion state that the discussion for deletion should be left open for "at least five days" before a consensus is reached. I have written to the administrator regarding this and the stub may be opened for review in the future.
I am only writing to you as you specifically mentioned it didn't meet the criteria, while it clearly did (verifiably and with ample references) the last time I saw the page. I am thinking you might be able to explain what the page was like when you made that comment, so I can verify that it was vandalized prior to your viewing it.
Thank you. Its nice that Wikipedia is so communal so that we band together and determine these things appropriately, rather than suffer the carelessness of one or two people.
[edit] AfD nomination of Shelter (band)
An editor has nominated Shelter (band), an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").
Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Shelter (band) and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).
You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:59, 15 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Farid Suleman
Another editor has added the {{prod}}
template to the article Farid Suleman, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the editor doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia or discuss the relevant issues at its talk page. If you remove the {{prod}}
template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. BJBot (talk) 18:00, 4 March 2008 (UTC)
