Not particularly, but I do have a deep space photo of the Pleiades in my flat. I really like the myth of Merope (the fourth one on that list is the one from where I draw my username). Welcome to Wikipedia! -- Merope 01:08, 29 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Captions
To figure out how to do captions, click "edit this page" on any page where you see a captioned picture. Read the code to see how it's done!
Also, lay off the exclamation points. We have a limited supply. ;) Mjk2357 11:53, 29 October 2006 (UTC)
- That didn't sound very specific.
- will caption the picture in the article.
- You might not want to use the full sized image, will transclude a thumbnail.
- You can specify left ot right float by adding left or right after thumb
- You can specify the size of the thumbnail by adding numberpx after thumb, .
- Separate parameters with a |
Hope this helps. Cheers, :) Dlohcierekim 13:05, 29 October 2006 (UTC)

Now that's what I call al LOT of smileys! I'm still laughing! Don't know if I can keep it since that many images at once is a load on the servers, but I love it nonetheless. Thank you so much. - Lucky 6.9 02:50, 30 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Admin user box
Hmm, Xizes, you are not an admin. I have removed the admin user box from your user page. You can get in real trouble if people think you are impersonating an admin. Please don't put anything on your user page that might give someone the wrong idea. Cheers, :) Dlohcierekim 04:42, 3 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] User:D's talk page
Sorry, I can't help you here -- Wikipedia is not censored, and it's a user talk page, not an article. NawlinWiki 04:14, 8 November 2006 (UTC)
I'm sorry, Xizes, but being offended at another's user page is one thing - just don't go there. EDITING his page like that is, quite plainly, vandalism. Please, don't do that again. --Shrieking Harpy Talk|Count 04:20, 8 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Adcott's Binary Transalator
A tag has been placed on Adcott's Binary Transalator, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because it is an article about a certain web site, blog, forum, or other community of web users that does not assert the importance or significance of that web location. If you plan to provide more notable material to the article, I advise you to do so immediately, and also put a note on Talk:Adcott's Binary Transalator. An administrator should check for such edits before deleting the article. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Please read our criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 1 under Articles. Please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources which verify their content. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material, please affix the template hangon to the page, and then immediately add such material. --Lijnema 00:03, 13 November 2006 (UTC)

What is this for? And what do you mean by "entries"? Fredil Shadows of Darkness 03:47, 12 November 2006 (UTC)
Look, not to rain on your parade or anything, and I'm honestly trying to be polite and helpful here, but Wikipedia isn't MySpace. It's all good and fine to have some fun, which I really encourage, but please don't go spamming talk pages about this stuff. I mean, really, you've hit up nearly a hundred user talk pages for... a survey? If you really have to advertise, then add it onto your sig like Katefan0 did for her (admittedly funny) Rush survey. But please... not this. It's obnoxious and spamming isn't a good way of doing things on the net, here or elsewhere. Thanks, Snoutwood (talk) 05:51, 12 November 2006 (UTC)
- Let me get this straight, your saying that I can't do surveys on Wikipedia. LAME... AstroBoy 04:32, 14 November 2006 (UTC)
- No, of course that's not what I'm saying. I even mentioned another survey that I'm fond of. I'm saying, "Please don't spam, it's obnoxious." Don't spin my words that way, it's not constructive. Snoutwood (talk) 08:24, 14 November 2006 (UTC)
- I'm sorry. I didn't know I was spammin' people. AstroBoy 05:30, 16 November 2006 (UTC)
- That's O.K., just please be conscious of what you're doing and evaluate whether or not it's an appropriate thing to be doing within a project who's goal is to create an encyclopedia before doing it. And maybe take a look at WP:SPAM and WP:ENC for some refreshment. Snoutwood (talk) 07:30, 17 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Survey Q
What's it for? Randfan 17:50, 12 November 2006 (UTC)
- Okay! Just was asking. Randfan 00:17, 13 November 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks for telling me about the Philippines being in the Southern Hemisphere. It's a nice country, BTW, with some great beaches. Any particular reason for the survey? --Kyoko 00:15, 13 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] stars, messages
Hi, and in the Philippines, the stars were very clear, probably in large part due to the much lower amount of night illumination relative to, say, the United States. In Japan, I couldn't really see the stars, but then again, I spent most of my time in Tokyo and other cities when I was there. I had put my earlier messages under "Survey Q" because it seemed to be an appropriate header, but in the future I will put messages on the bottom as requested. BTW, when you see the bar that says, "You have new message (change)", you can click on the "change" link to see the very latest message. It's not perfect, though. If you have gotten 2 messages, it will only highlight the latest message. Hope this helps. --Kyoko 00:31, 13 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] escaping light pollution
Hi, I notice from your userpage that you're in Washington state. You might consider going to Mount Rainier National Park (another nice place, when it's not foggy) for good views of the sky, but then again, the rain has washed many of the roads out there. --Kyoko 00:39, 13 November 2006 (UTC)
- Mount Rainier is a beautiful park, when the clouds and fog aren't in the way. That gives you some idea of my experience, when half of it was sunny and half of it was foggy. --Kyoko 02:07, 13 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Mount Rainier
Hi there, I only spent a day there this past summer, far too little time. I didn't ski, but I did hike a little. There is a visitor center called Hurricane Ridge, that has nice views of mountain meadows. Elsewhere in the park is the main visitor center (I think it was called Paradise) that had a number of trailheads. By the time I got there, the clouds and fog had come in, so I couldn't actually see the mountain peak. --Kyoko 13:43, 14 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Adcott's binary transalator
I didn't delete it, I put a speedy deletion tag on it, and I even replied on the talk page about it. And then someone who can delete pages came along and decided to delete it. I maintain that it clearly didn't pass WP:WEB. --Lijnema 16:40, 14 November 2006 (UTC)

Yes, I am an amateur astronomer, I have an old C-14 SCT which is fun to use. I did manage to see the southern cross, Omega Centauri, and the Jewel Box while I was visiting Hawaii last summer. WilliamKF 18:18, 14 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] User talk:NawlinWiki
Hello! Talk page comments such as above are not a good idea as they take up enormous amounts of space and say very little but do so in a manner that is likely to irritate the receiver. Please consider moderating your Talk page comments to constructive criticism with a neutral tone. (aeropagitica) 06:12, 21 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Blocked
You have been temporarily blocked from editing Wikipedia as a result of your disruptive edits. You are free to make constructive edits after the block has expired, but please note that vandalism (including page blanking or addition of random text), spam, deliberate misinformation, privacy violations, personal attacks; and repeated, blatant violations of our neutral point of view policy will not be tolerated. Repeated edits like this on multiple users' talk pages will result in blocks. You were warned repeatedly, and I see from your block log you've already been blocked for this in early December. Man, I'm gonna beat the hell out of User:Firsfron like... now. D DON'T WANT YOU TO KNOW THE TIME.
- Whatever the merits of your original block, threatening the blocking admin is likely to earn you a longer block instead of leniency. Please stop. You can use unblock to request to be unblocked.--Kchase T 04:34, 22 December 2006 (UTC)
- I am manually adding you to Category:Requests for unblock, as that seems to have been your intention in using the unblock tag (I'm not sure what happened that you're not in the cat; but whatever). The reviewing admin should take care of the removal and hopefully notice that you placed the unblock notice at the top of the page, instead of the bottom. Regards.--Kchase T 05:27, 22 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] TI-BASIC
Hello-- Please don't continue to re-add all of that code on the TI-BASIC article. Wikipedia is not an instruction manual. Please see the discussion on the talk page for my comments concerning this. Thanks!
Allynfolksjr 07:56, 13 February 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for your reply, but I must disagree. The example code there is more than reasonable to show the basic syntax of the language and differences between z80 and 68k BASIC. I realize you might have spent time personally coming up with the code, and there are sites online for you to share your work, such as ticalc.org.
Allynfolksjr 06:10, 14 February 2007 (UTC)
I fully agree with Allynfolksjr. Not only are these examples totally unnecessary bloat in the article, but your persistent attempts to re-add them over repeated requests not to is hardly becoming of someone who'd "like to be (a wikipedia administrator)". When an edit is controversial, you're supposed to talk about it on the talk page instead of repeatedly bludgeoning it into the history - I'm sure you should know this by now. — flamingspinach | (talk) 04:48, 15 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] GB1508
A tag has been placed on GB1508, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.
Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. If you plan to expand the article, you can request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material. To do this, affix the template hangon
to the page and state your intention on the article's talk page. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. 172.162.148.89 14:02, 20 June 2007 (UTC)
