[edit] Spam

Someone at Xirrus ought to be ashamed of themselves for foisting their blatant spam onto Wikipedia. I cleaned up the page but half of it (the second sentence) still reads like an advertisement. Resurgent insurgent 07:10, 7 August 2007 (UTC)

I use Xirrus stuff. These guys (Xircom) made some great products that saved me frustration with dongles, so decided to contribute based on my knowledge of the company and what I found via Google. I'm just getting started with these contributions, so let me know if my contrib lacks. Off to do more contribs...fun stuff... Chomperhead 18:35, 7 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Sock puppet (Not)

Earlier today Jlmerrill's user page showed his resume as a marketeer at Xirrus, previously Intel (bought Xircom), previously Xircom. This has since been deleted. This information was obtained from linkedin.com. No doubt that will soon be sanitized as well.

Chomperhead now appears to edit these pages and ra ra the company but unfortunately, if you look at the photo he created and reports to be his copyright, self-taken, is the same photo previously submitted by Jlmerrill under the same claim for the previous versions of this page which were deleted as spam.

I claim Chomperhead is a sockpuppet and will submit the process for having both accounts blocked and because of this wilfull evasion of wikipedia policy I will attempt to have the subject Xirrus protected.

[edit] False Claim

Eloheim is completely false and is obviously overly sensitive about something.

1) I checked the jlmerrill on linkedin -- listed as an employee of Xirrus, Intel, and Xircom -- where does this "santitize" claim come from?
2) Chomperhead (that's me) does like the Xirrus product -- not hiding that. If you and other's like you are allowed to delete articles on the basis of the author liking the topic, than 99% of the articles in Wikipedia should be deleted -- that's ridiculous?
3) The picture was taken by me. Please show me the picture from user jlmerrill -- I GUARANTEE it is not the same as you irroneously claim!
4) The "wilfull evasion of Wikipedia policy" is not understood by eloheim. I've read the policies several times and everything I wrote follows those guidelines.

The more I've read through Wikipedia, the more I've discovered there to be a lot of thought police pouring through pages and aserting deletions if not to their personal liking. Allowing anyone to edit a page is fantastic, but allowing eloheim to slander other user and/or trash content without facts is insulting! Claims are just that...claims. Facts is what is needed and eloheim presented none.

While we are throwing out claims and not facts...I claim eloheim is the thought police out to terminate any article he/she dislikes, regardless of it being notable and correct per Wikipedia's own guidelines. eloheim throws around the "blantant advertising" to scare administrators to delete and block.

I request Wikipedia administrators to please leave the Xirrus page alone and discuss how to limit people like eloheim from asserting themselves.
I request Wikipedia administrators to please leave my account alone as I am trying to build and contribute to this fantastic database.

OK, now it makes sense. I did some investigating of my own...User aamrod requested speedy deletions of all articles referring to Xirrus. He posted some harsh comments on NawlinWiki's talk page.

He then posted a similar speedy deletion on this page at 6:52 today...three minutes after eloheim posted his comment to this discussion page. I may be wrong, but seems like aamrod and eloheim are trying to keep any articles mentioning Xirrus from appearing on Wikipedia. Brother aamrod's and eloheim's ONLY CONTRIBS to Wikipedia have been to delete Xirrus content. Seems odd.

If anything, some investigation/blocking needs to be done on those two users.

My only conflict of interest is being a technology enthusiast and using one of Xirrus' products. Please explain how that consitutes conflict of interest as defined by Wikipedia's policy. Just about every article was written by or contributed by a person who had or has a positive relationship of some sort with the article being written. So what as long as it is written from a neutral and objective standpoint. Before deleting this article or severly editing it to a couple of words, please discuss on this page. Thx! If you want this article to survive deletion, go to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Xirrus to state why - comments here will not be given as much weight. That aside I have written articles for topics from which my only knowledge came from research via Google and Factiva (i.e, I knew nothing about these topics before I thought of writing articles for them) so it is definitely not true that "Just about every article was written by or contributed by a person who had or has a positive relationship of some sort with the article being written." I like the re-write -- I now understand more the "neutral" point of view so as I write/contrib other articles - thx. I did make some minor tweaks to the re-write from information I found via Google and Yahoo. Chomperhead 17:45, 9 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Well if we are going to keep it

we might as well get the facts right.

Chomperhead, as I hope my latest edits show I am not anti Xirrus, just anti blatant company adverts with no supporting references or 3rd party facts supporting the truth, whatever it may be. I can't speak for Amrod whoever she may be.
