Xiong-ming.png (200 × 200 pixels, file size: 92 KB, MIME type: image/png)
Studio portrait of me taken c. 1994 (note lack of gray hair). This was contracted for as work-for-hire and so I hold the copyright. Addtionally, it is dressed up in a frame copied from ancient Ming dynasty scrolls; we shall hope no ghosts haunt us from that time.
- Note that most photographers do not sell you the copyright to your portrait. They keep the negatives, retain rights, and just sell you prints. You may not have the legal right to make copies of those prints. (!) Worse, they may have the right to make and use copies of your face. (!!) Always insist on work-for-hire when engaging the services of a photographer.
