I'm not a native speaker of any Chinese dialect but my first translation of Xinhua would have been Newspeak. Lycurgus 19:54, 27 May 2007 (UTC)

Huá (华) can be used as a shorthand for China/Chinese, as in huáqiáo (华侨, overseas Chinese). Rpine75 07:27, 27 August 2007 (UTC)
