Xiah is a Korean (this article is about the English version) MMORPG. Xiah offers an MMORPG Asian Martial Arts gameplay and detailed 3D environment with a HCI (Human Computer Interface), which includes as game support level, convenience, and aesthetic configuration.
What makes Xiah innovative is its AI. Xiah's Artificial Intelligence system (AI) is based on the Artificial Emotion (AE) for monsters. The NPCs in Xiah are based on the AI system also. For example, a monster running away can return to attack users when it meets friends to cooperate, and monsters who are attacked but not killed will remember its attacker.
Xiah offers different views by zooming in and out.

By acquiring Rebirth, a character will:
[edit] Five Elements
(often called ele,5e,fe and fema) The elements play an important role in Xiah. The elements are:
Water- Beats Fire and Steel Fire- Beats Wood and Steel Wood- Beats Soil and Water Steel- Beats Wood and Soil Soil- Beats Fire and Water
By using an element that beats the element you are fighting against, you increase your damage and defense against that enemy. Every monster above level 30 gives a certain number of elements. There are two special maps that give more element than other maps. The elements at 1 point have 2 balls around you going in circular motions (picture to be put), 200 points get you the level one element ring (picture to be put), at 500 you get second ring (picture to be put), and at 1000 points, it's still two rings but with a transparent ring in between, and some additional balls (picture to be put). After getting max level rebirth you can get element up to 1500 but without changes in looks. Elements can also be gained by mining.
[edit] Imbue System
A key part of Xiah is the imbue system which allows for strengthening a characters items.
[edit] Imbue Items
There are 3 different groups of imbue items which are used: White, Black and Red.
Each colour has different rocks which are: Stones, Crystals, Jewels and Best Jewels, Example: Red Stone, Black Crystal. Stones bein lowest success rate and amount that it will strengthen and best jewel being the highest.
Blacks: Increase's the + on the item which is the main stat. For Example: A weapon imbued with a black that is successful will gain damage.
Whites: Increase the ( ) on the item which can be any other stat than the main. For Example: A Weapon when imbued with white can gain Attack Rating.
Reds: Decreases requirement of the item. For Example: A level 40 item imbued successfully with a red may drop the level to 39.
[edit] Combine
It takes 10 powders a same color to create a stone, it has a certain percentage of success to it as well. You can also combine other things, such as blade maps and weapons (lowers gear requierment by 20%) or other items of that type.
Mining Even though Mining is the main source of imbuement materials (rocks, maps and such), in xiah it's fairly simple, all you need to start is a hammer. Hammers can be bought in General Shop in Prairie. The Quarry is also in Prairie. You can buy hammers in game with ingame money (jeons) but they are not as good as some of the hammers you can buy from the item mall.
[edit] Maps
There are 9 maps currently and they are as follows:
Prairie area- The basic area where you start your Xiah career, the entire player market is based there. Also you can mine there. There are 3 Npcs that are only in that map. And also there in some regular Npcs you can buy items that cannot be bought in other maps. There are just 4 level 1 monsters there.
Bizarre rock- There you start your monster killing and leveling. It has monsters from lvls 1-8 and then from 65-69. It is a grassy map, often called bizz.
Volcano area- Has monsters from level 9-12 and from 28-34. A map filled with lava and with 4 portals, it can be considered the center of Xiah world. It is there to prepare you for desert and for glacier later on.
Desert area- Monsters from level 12-28, it has a desert flooring, and is known for the most parties, later on other maps parties get lost, but here they are the most numerous. It trains you to the borderline of starting to obtain Five Elements.
Glacier area- A snow and frost map with Levels 35-45 When getting to Glacier characters have some elementsand are ready to face bigger and stronger mobs. They prepare to step into the element map Poison Magic Cave and use the Elements wisely.
Poison Magic Cave (pmc)- has levels 41- (unknown, please edit) and gives a lot of Elements, but monsters also use them there so you have to use certain combinations when fighting different monsters. Also has a room called Hell Room with high monster mobs and special Bosses.
Alpine- A grassy map with high level monsters that do not use Elements. The monsters here are from level 53 - 70. In this map you can PK without questions or agreements on any server.
Blood Devil Castle (bdc)- Has the strongest monsters and great fema rates. The elements you use have the most effect there. It costs 200 000 jeon to teleport to there, and when you die you go back to prairie which explains the difficulty. The item drops there are high leveled and rare. This map can only be entered when you reach level 60. Here you can PK the same way as in alpine.
(the list of maps are in order of monster lvl contained)
[edit] Quests and Bosses
In Xiah you get a number of quests each level, some give more experience some less. Quests can be bought in game and in Itemmall. All quests have their own unique objectives, rewards are often fame, which determines the color of your name, experience and gear. Their requirement may often need the killing of a Boss monster, most mobs have bosses, those monsters are a couple times stronger than regular mobs, in pmc there are also G bosses which are a lot stronger than regular bosses of same level. Game masters have gotten greedy and reduced all quests 90%.
[edit] Guilds
The guilds in Xiah can make alliances and war, a guild has a Boss, SubBosses, Elders, Hobups, Dangjus and Members (listed in order of responsibility). The number of people a guild can have is determined by its "fame" level. Fame can be bought up to a lvl of 500. After that fame can only be increased by warring other guild up to a maximum lvl of 1000.
[edit] Item Mall
The Item Mall offers various items which ease and improve playing at an expodential rate.
[edit] Monsters
The monster list is at the bottom of the page, their levels and element they use. The word in Element section states the element that monster uses. Each monster gives a certain amount of fema. it takes 20 fema to gain 1% of a real element point (those are the ones that are needed 200 for first ring). The amount of fema also decreases as you level up (e.g a level 70 gets 1 fema from a level 60 monster)

[edit] Leveling
Leveling can be achieved by training (killing monsters) or questing, at later levels questing is inavoidable. The current maximum level is 110, and some players reached it. There are a lot of monsters to choose from to train. You can choose to train on any of the 3 servers, but on the third server you could get PK without any questions, also that can happen in Alpine any server, or bdc any server but server 1.

[edit] Conclusion
Xiah has good ratings on the internet although not a large number of players. It clearly offers a lot of possibilities and is not just another MMO. It has the ItemMall with a lot of great things for character improvement but the game still needs fixing and updating although that is done every week, and players even participate in the decisions to be made. Game Masters have now reduced Experience 90% on quests given and bought which is killing the game. No one wants to spend a month for 1 level.
