[edit] Crusader III

The intake definitely was of fixed geometry which is why it was raked and far forward. I dont know who thought it was "complex and variable"

According to Green, W; Swanborough, G (2001). The Great Book of Fighters. MBI Publishing. ISBN 0-7603-1194-3. , the F8U-3 had a variable geometry inlet. - BillCJ 19:48, 24 December 2006 (UTC)

Its a Ferri type, similar to the one used on the F-105 albeit larger.
