[edit] Hi

Hi and welcome. Thanks for cleaning up and adding to List of fictional humanoid species. ··gracefool | 11:52, 23 Aug 2004 (UTC)

[edit] Sig

Hi there,

You can avoid using an image in your sig (which is frowned on) by using font formatting and special characters, such as:

─┼─

<font color="red"><b>#9472;#9532;#9472;</b></font>

(put ampersands, "&", before the hash symbols above... See the source of this comment if unclear)

Or even:

─┼─

<font style="color:red;background:white">
<b>#9472;#9532;#9472;</b></font>

(The latter ensures a white background)...

[edit] Article Licensing

Hi, I've started a drive to get users to multi-license all of their contributions that they've made to either (1) all U.S. state, county, and city articles or (2) all articles, using the Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike (CC-by-sa) v1.0 and v2.0 Licenses or into the public domain if they prefer. The CC-by-sa license is a true free documentation license that is similar to Wikipedia's license, the GFDL, but it allows other projects, such as WikiTravel, to use our articles. Since you are among the top 1000 Wikipedians by edits, I was wondering if you would be willing to multi-license all of your contributions or at minimum those on the geographic articles. Over 90% of people asked have agreed. For More Information:

To allow us to track those users who muli-license their contributions, many users copy and paste the "DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual" template into their user page, but there are other options at Template messages/User namespace. The following examples could also copied and pasted into your user page:

Option 1
I agree to multi-license all my contributions, with the exception of my user pages, as described below:
DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual

OR

Option 2
I agree to multi-license all my contributions to any U.S. state, county, or city article as described below:
DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual

Or if you wanted to place your work into the public domain, you could replace "DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual" with "MultiLicensePD". If you only prefer using the GFDL, I would like to know that too. Please let me know what you think at my talk page. It's important to know either way so no one keeps asking. -- Ram-Man (comment| talk)

[edit] External links vs link

It is a very minor thing, but I noticed that at The Winter of Our Discontent you changed "link" to "links" even though there is only one external link listed. I myself have changed "links" to "link" several times in such cases, and also seen others do the same, and I was wondering if you know of any wikipedia standard one way or the other or if plural "links" on lists of one item is just your preference? ~leifHELO 22:07, Dec 16, 2004 (UTC)

[edit] Cape Hyrax

Hello! I was amazed to see that someone actually managed to find the Cape Hyrax article that I created. LOL. Thanks for the spelling correction. Just out of curiosity, were you using the "Random page" button when you found it?

[edit] Chemical warfare

Many thanks for fixing all those typos in chemical warfare. After working with the same article for so long, I have a tendency to miss the little things... -- ClockworkSoul 21:42, 22 Dec 2004 (UTC)

[edit] Osirus

I see you removed my little misspelling joke ;) Alkivar 22:47, 26 Dec 2004 (UTC)

[edit] Collaboration of the Week

League of Nations is the new Collaboration of the Week. Please join in helping make it a feature article.

[edit] Sin City

Hey, I noticed you Sin_City_(movie) page, just after I finished editting the movie section of the original article. What do you think we should do? Should we erase it from the Sin_City page and add it too Sin_City_(movie)? I'm new to Wikipedia (as you can see from my grammar) and I don't know what's the usual procedure for a situation like this :). Switcher 01:50, 30 Dec 2004 (UTC)

[edit] delete

Heya, I saw you using delete: There's also the del (and since a few days d) shorthand, which do the same but saves a little typing. Thanks for helping keep wikipedia clean! --fvw* 06:52, 2005 Jan 10 (UTC)

[edit] Tim Burton & Corpse Bride

Thanks for correcting my little mistakes on these two pages.

[edit] Demon -- arrrrrrrrrg!

Hello, "Demon of lies". I just wanted to say I thought it was hilarious what User:Plank wrote on the Talk:Democrazy page. Man, people take their promotion seriously; they should be paid publicists (hmmmm...maybe they are). The weird thing is the similarities between Plank's comments and User:Pitchka/Dwain's comments about me. I'd make a fuss about personal attacks, but I honestly don't care, and find such things amusing. You know, those two have quite a bit in common. Anyway, take care, and keep monitoring the VfD page. -R. fiend 13:55, 4 Feb 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Spirited Away

 • Hi. I noticed that, in a recent edit, you removed the "Possible themes" section of the Spirited Away article. You also removed the fact that the movie is the first anime film to receive an Oscar from the article, took out information about Haku's name, and changed the literal translation of the title. What was your reasoning for these changes? Josh 03:10, Feb 9, 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Hour-ay

Thanks for fixing up 15 Hours On A September Thursday! I would have myself but had to run. Samaritan 19:13, 10 Feb 2005 (UTC)

[edit] City-stub

Hi Xezbeth - I note you occasionally use the city-stub. It has been deleted because of the reorganisation of geo-stubs. From now on, please use either plain geo-stub or one of the regional geo-stubs (as listed at the top of Category:geography stubs (yes, I know there are a lot of them, which is why the plain geo-stub still exists! :). Thanks. Grutness|hello? 00:34, 15 Feb 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Copyediting 9 Songs (movie)

Hi Xezbeth, thanks for reorganizing and polishing 9 songs. I just corrected a little typo. I'm glad there's a 9 Songs article in WP now. Greetings, --Abrax5 10:22, 16 Feb 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Bogus article titles

Please don't create any more bogus article titles like Bull (mythology) is stupid!, Elizabeth! It make unnecessary work for the grown-ups. Why are you indoors today? Why not play outside? --Wetman 20:33, 18 Feb 2005 (UTC)

She's not creating junk, she's fixing the damage of a page-move vandal. Noel (talk) 20:55, 18 Feb 2005 (UTC)
PS: Thanks a bunch for fixing all those! Did you do them by hand, or did you have some software help? (If the former, you're getting a Barnstar!) Noel (talk) 21:13, 18 Feb 2005 (UTC)

Please check out WP:AN/I#User:Dieser Benutzer wurde gesperrt for some ideas on how to deal with page-move vandals; one thing to do is save a copy of their "User contributions" list before you start undoing their damage (since undoing the moves blanks it), so we can find and delete the resultant redirects. Noel (talk) 15:39, 19 Feb 2005 (UTC)

[edit] MLA format citations

I don't appreciate you removing meta-information from external links after I have taken the time to gather the information necessary to put them in MLA format. I am talking specifically about the World population article. --Alterego 19:30, Mar 6, 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Adminship

I've seen the huge ammount of good work you've been doing recently and was wondering if you're interested in becoming an admin. If you are I am more than willing to nominate you, please send me a message. Rje 02:50, Mar 11, 2005 (UTC)

Ok, thanks for letting me know. Rje 13:06, Mar 11, 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Template:CatAZ

You recently inserted the tag CatAZ into a large category. If you have the time and inclination, I would be grateful if you could visit the talk page Template talk:CatAZ and say which of two version you prefer: with a shaded box and the word Contents, or without the box and the word. --Henrygb 21:12, 11 Mar 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Allan Steel

I've just reverted your edits at Allan Steel. It was in the standard format that the Cricket Wikiproject uses for cricketers, so I can't understand why you changed it, particularly as you removed a lot of useful information. Please be more careful. Kind regards, jguk 21:04, 12 Mar 2005 (UTC)

Apologies. Looking at the diff it appeared you had. I have seen a few others complain of the occasional "missing edit" that removes information recently - seems like there's a Wikibug going round somewhere. Just hope it gets fixed soon. Kind regards, jguk 09:39, 13 Mar 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Jiohdi emotions:mechanics

this was copied from my geocities site, I am the author, so any help in speeding up its re-instatement would be appreciated as you apparently were behind removing it. you can contact me at jiohd@gmail.com my birth name is Enrico J. Monteforte. and www.geocities.com/jiohdi is my webpage. and I have updated the www.geocities.com/jiohdi/emotions.html page to include my name and aka jiohdi for further verification.

[edit] thanks...

I'm deleting the nonsense added by User:Smilerz now. Thanks for marking them! -- Seth Ilys 14:04, 19 Mar 2005 (UTC)

[edit] what the??

What in the world was that about? Thanks for fixing it. --Tydaj 17:29, 19 Mar 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Thanks!

Thanks for fixing that vandalism on my Talk Page. It looks like multiple people were hit at once, so it must have been a bot? I'll have to research how you deal with such people - a first for me, thankfully. Spalding 17:41, Mar 19, 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Casino Royale move

In the future when moving articles please check for double redirects. K1Bond007 21:33, Mar 24, 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Disambiguation Question

Hi, I note that you have added a small modification to a number of my recent edits and summarized as "srd". Can you tell me what this means? It has miraculously fixed the problem I was facing - that links go directly to the edit pages rather than the articles :) Binand 04:08, 25 Mar 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Why'd you take that link out?

The link wasn't spam. What was wrong with it?
