[edit] Pimps And Whores (Music)

A tag has been placed on Pimps And Whores (Music), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag) and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. EarthPerson 20:35, 13 June 2007 (UTC)

You did a good job and it looks like you got your wish. If you look at this edit here @ 09:38, 14 June 2007, User:Daniel, who is an admin, removed the speedy header. He put in a cleanup tag, which is just a note to any passing editor, indicating that the article needs work, not that it needs deleted. Looks like that was almost 2 & 1/2 hours after your message to me.
Checking the history tab of the article, you put the hangon template back in here @ 11:44, 14 June 2007. You may have gotten confused with the cleanup tag. Putting hangon back in would have showed the article in the contested speedy delete category again. Looks like you kept working and then here @ 13:47, 14 June 2007, User:Wafulz removed the hangon template. This removed the article as a contested speedy delete.
Sorry if I jumped the gun in marking it as a speedy. I think the thing that caused me was the phrase work on the debut album is currently underway. I've seen many band articles that say similar things like hopes to sign soon which is usually a sign that they are not really notable.
Kudos and my thanks to you for using the hangon template the first time and not removing the speedy. That let an admin (Daniel, above) look it over and decide weather or not to keep the article, which is one of the many jobs of an admin. The article itself looks nice and I like the Lite-Brite-style logo for the band. You may want to see the note in the history about copyvio. Read up on it and check to be sure that you've not added anything not original.
Good job, cheers, and happy editing.  :) Oh yeah, welcome to Wikipedia! --EarthPerson 21:32, 14 June 2007 (UTC)
