Xavier Pick (born 1972 in York) is a contemporary English artist. He attended Pocklington School and went on to study at Glasgow School of Art under celebrated children's illustrator Mick Manning, and the Royal College of Art under John Norris Wood. His work is concerned with atmosphere and the spirit of place. He is well known for painting at night in London, and he currently runs a course at the R.C.A called "Drawing London". As a founder member of the London Drawing Group, he is following a British tradition of artists interested in social documentary and capturing the spirit of place. These include people like Hogarth, William Blake, JMW Turner, Paul Nash, John Piper and Gavin Thorogood.
