Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar (XIM Bhubaneswar, also known as XIMB), is a premier business school in India, located in the eastern state of Orissa. It belongs to the Super League (SL) category of the top business schools in India as surveyed by AIMA (All India Management Association).[1]

[edit] Foundation
Established in 1987, the Institute owes its origin to a Social Contract between the Government of Orissa and the Orissa Jesuit Society. The Institute is led by a Governing Board consisting of representatives from Orissa Jesuit Society, Government of India, and Government of Orissa, and invited industrialists and educationists.

XIMB aims at developing professional managers for the corporate sector and for other socio-economic institutions which serve the people of India and fostering the progress of the nation towards a more prosperous, just, and humane society. XIMB aims to develop technical, professional and managerial excellence, social and cultural sensitivity, ethical responsibility, and concern for the environment among present and future managers.

The academic programmes offered by XIMB are based on the standard model of management education practised globally.

A Team of PGP second year students from XIMB claimed the 4th spot in the Rubicon International Business Case contest held in 2006, in Iserlohn, Germany. Incidentally, the team was the sole Asian finalist.[5]

XIMB will establish a second campus in Orissa. This 100-acre (0.40 km²) campus is slated to start in 2011 to coincide with the institution's silver jubilee. It will be located somewhere in the outskirts of the city of Bhubaneswar.[6]

Xpressions is the annual cultural festival of XIMB. The biggest B-school fest of the east[11] and one of the best in India, the gamut of participants varies from management students to art & engineering undergraduates, from aspiring MBA's to professionals.
