Xaphon is the internet alias of a possible existing person, please do not associate any of my work here with a real life person, as this would defeat the purpose of an alias (which I've been using for years now). This gives me identity among the internet communities I am part of, but keeps my real life person private. Who I am in the real world has hardly anything to do with Wikipedia.

I've been using Wikipedia as a useful source of information for years now, but I rarely make any large contributions to the project. This is due to a lack of knowledge of all things related to the matter of editing and creating pages, and because I rarely have the time to do something of such a nature. However, I frequently make minor edits that correct spelling, punctuation, and grammatical errors (a growing problem here), as well as voice my opinions on the content of certain articles on their respective discussion pages. I may not know much about editing, but I feel that my opinions, when voiced, are appropriate and with enough educated basis to serve the interests of fellow Wikipedians and their goal to improve the Project.

My areas of interest and enthusiasm are many, but I accept that I am nothing more than an enthusiast, and no professor. Even if the enthusiast is correct, the professor has authority, but therewith responsibility with which he is trusted to do what is right for the sake of knowledge. I hope to be a source of possibly useful information in the areas of: psychology, particularly that related to Freud; religion, particularly various pre-Christian European pagan religions, modern pagan religions, Judaism, and Christianity to a lesser extent; Linguistics and Indo-European Languages, with an emphasis on Germanic Languages; European history, particularly during the time periods of the Industrial Revolution and World War II and thereafter; various genres of music, including Industrial Music, EBM, Darkwave, and other music that may be associated with Goth subculture; variousAnime and Manga; various video games; various films and books, particularly of the genres of science fiction, fantasy, and horror, and those with philosophical content and symbolism.

[edit] On the Subject of Vandalism

I work in my township's library and know that there are possible vandals who use the many computers on our free wireless network. All the terminals on the network share the same IP Address, and that includes mine. I received a warning of some sort when I accessed Wikipedia without logging in, about a page someone who was obviously on the network had vandalized. The creation of this User Page also marks the point in time when I will, from now on, make all edits of my own only while logged in, to ensure I will not be confused with anonymous vandals.

Anonymity is a power and, like all powers, can be used for good or malicious intentions; but Anonymous will never be remembered for anything other than anonymity. It is the changes Anonymous makes that will be remembered, and only if those changes remain unchanged. Thus, vandalism is an exercise in pointlessness.
