A tag has been placed on Polly & the Pockets, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert notability may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is notable, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Slp1 22:58, 4 January 2007 (UTC)

Hello, I understand your disappointment that Polly and the Pockets keeps getting tagged for deletion. The problem is that Wikipedia has strict guidelines about what can be in the encyclopedia, including what bands have to have achieved. Try reading [1]. If Polly and the Pockets have achieved these kinds of things, then you need to prove them in the article. Otherwise wait till the band is famous enough and you won't have a problem then. Good luck! --Slp1 01:31, 5 January 2007 (UTC)

Copied reply from Polly and the Pockets talk page:

Well, thank you for that. The band is only famous in the town of Whitby, so I understand where you're coming from. So, if the page must be deleted, I'd ask that you delete the song and album pages - anything that is linked to Polly & the Pockets as well. There's no sense in having those pages form a 'non existant band' on Wikipedia. ;) Hopefully you can do that. Thanks for the explanation. :) —The preceding unsigned comment was added by X telegram x (talk • contribs).
No problemo. I appreciate your understanding. I'll make sure the songs and album pages are tagged too. I hope the band does really well in the future!! --Slp1 02:40, 5 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Non-free use disputed for Image:Cover4212 27152.jpg

Warning sign This file may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Cover4212 27152.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted after seven days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 00:25, 26 July 2007 (UTC)
