X-ray fish
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
X-ray fish or x-ray tetra is a name usually given to the small tetra Pristella maxillaris often referred to as Pristella riddlei in older aquarium books.[1] Less commonly, it may also be applied to other transparent species such as glassfish and glass catfish. The name x-ray fish was supposedly given as a nickname to skeletal remains of fishes sometimes caught in fishermen's nets.[citation needed]
