X-Perts

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

X-Perts is a 2D side-scrolling action beat-'em-up game ported on the Sega Mega Drive console in 1996, starring Shadow Yamoto from Eternal Champions.

Shadow led a group of fellow X-perts in sabatoge and other various missions. Each of these characters had special character specific moves had differing attributes. All the characters had three unique torture moves in order to extract info from various enemies. Another unique gameplay element was the swapping of characters midgame in order to have them all perform different tasks.

The graphics were pre-rendered in 3d then converted into sprite form which is similar to the method used in Donkey Kong Country to create character and level graphics.
