[edit] Previous formats

Originally (in the 1980s), WZAT was a Top 40 station, "Z102". In the early '90s, it flipped to Alternative (Modern Rock) as "WZAT - Savannah's Rock and Roll Radio" and, alternately, "Z102" and was a very popular Alternative rock station. Phoenix Media Partners sold the station to Cumulus in 1997. The station was previously Top 40 and has changed formats from Top 40 to a Top 40/Hot AC hybrid twice before; it flipped to Hot AC on March 11th, 2008. The next day, the station revealed its new name and positioner - "Mix 102-1 - The BEST Mix of Music". WZAT's new website is under construction at mix1021.net.
