Wytheville Community College is a two-year college located in Wytheville, Virginia. One of the 23 schools in the Virginia Community College System, the college opened in 1963, and serves residents of Bland, Carroll, Grayson, parts of Smyth, and Wythe counties, and the City of Galax. WCC is well known in the region for its Nursing and Dental Hygiene programs, both of which generally have a two to five year waiting list.
Wytheville Community College provides a fantastic transition for high school graduates who aren't ready (due to academics or personal preference) to go into a four year university. It also allows lower-income students to receive a very affordable and quality education. The administration, faculty, and staff are very caring and believe in providing the best quality education to their students.
The current president is Dr. Charlie White. The college has all three federally funded TRIO programs, which include Upward Bound, Talent Search, and Student Services. It also has many clubs and organizations including PTK, ACM Club, Police Science Club, Nursing club, Student Government Association, and many more.
