Quick question: I note that "24 hectares" was changed to "24 km&sup2" - is that a straightforward matter of Wikipedia policy, or is there some other reason not to use hectares? I put hectares originally because that's what the Forestry Commission tend to use, and km&sup2 looks rather odd to me in this context. Loganberry 00:21, 29 Nov 2004 (UTC)

Hectares are the standard unit, and should not have been converted away from. Reverting.

I have reverted km² to hectares simply because those are the standard units in forestry, and because I (as a non-specialist) have seen the Forestry Commission use them in its own literature considerably more often than km². If anyone feels that strongly about this, then go ahead and change it back, but in this case I feel the useful flexibility of "hectares" outweighs the scientific reasons for strict adherence to SI units only.
