[edit] History

In 2007 Wylie East High School opened for the 2007-2008 school year. In the school's first year it served solely the ninth grade stundents. However the district has previously promised that the class of 2011 (the school's first class) will go to the Wylie High School to graduate. The residents were asked to present seggestion at board meetings in late 2007. Wylie East will become a 9-12 school with Class of 2012 being the first class to graduate after the district voted to go with multiple 9-12 campuses in January 2008.

[edit] Dress code

Wylie School District is enforcing a standardized dress policy for students fifth through twelfth grade since the 2006-2007 school year. The dress code requires that students wear solid color polo shirts and khaki, navy, or black Docker-style pants. Shirts must be tucked in and a belt worn around the waist. Just before the 2007-08 school year the dress code was updated to prohibit the wearing of hooded sweatshirts (aka "hoodies") within the building.
