[edit] Name

Is this his birth name? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 69.165.26.241 (talk) 05:53, 17 January 2006 (UTC).

I'd assume so until arguments are presented otherwise. Usually if something is a fake name, a real name is found out, you know? Tyciol 19:54, 17 January 2006 (UTC)

As he is the son of a preacher, I wonder if he was named after John Wycliff. Anyone know? 69.137.220.179 02:45, 12 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Hold up!

Does anyone besides me notice that there are two different locations given for Wyclef's birthplace (La Plaine and Croix-des-Bouquets, Haiti)? Which one is it?--Pinko1977 05:17, 8 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Whacko

HE'S FROM CROIX-DES-BOUQUETS( LA PLAINE)—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 70.19.249.166 (talk) 03:41, 22 March 2006 (UTC).

I believe that he was born in Croix-Des-Bouquets, Haiti. La Plaine has nothing to do with it and beside he said that in one of his songs.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 69.243.100.9 (talk) 21:24, 27 April 2006 (UTC).

[edit] Bubblegoose

I think it should have something to say about his part in Chef Aid, the song Bubblegoose.Defy You 01:00, 5 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Heart Attack..

I cannot find any information online right now about the medical incident. 8-23-06 14:35 EST—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 69.37.224.40 (talk) 18:31, 23 August 2006 (UTC).

[edit] On the news

I just heard about the heart attack on FOX. I think it was around 7 in the morning on Wednesday, August 23 that I heard it. I think it said he was trying to keep it quiet.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by Chublin (talk) 21:37, 23 August 2006 (UTC).

[edit] Must be...

Keeping it very quiet, Google news shows nothing on it still.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 70.103.79.15 (talk) 22:09, 23 August 2006 (UTC).

[edit] Ya never know

hey the way i ssee it, google isn't really as reliable as an actual news channel.i dont really like fox news to much but id trust em more then google to come up with somethin that important.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 66.167.22.62 (talk) 23:46, 23 August 2006 (UTC).

[edit] "One Last Thing..." appearance

Somone should mention his cameo in "One Last Thing..." beyond just the mention in discography that he recorded a song for the soundtrack. An IMDB link could also be good. --Oldsage36 02:56, 29 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] McLaren

I heard he owns a McLaren F1.. Anyone know if this is true? It would make a good trivia statement, at least for car lovers like myself :P—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 72.146.157.134 (talk) 00:37, 29 September 2006 (UTC).

[edit] Solo singles

I'm not a massive fan thoguh I do like him. Why aren't Gone till November, It doesn't matter, and that Stripper song in the discography? I'm 90% sure they were released as singles.Schnizzle 15:06, 31 October 2006 (UTC)

Gone Til November was released on his Carnival album, and It Doesn't Matter and Perfect Gentleman were released on the Ecleftic album. I've removed Wish You Were Here from the listed singles for consistency because that was on the Ecleftic cd too. Cloudz679 21:38, 2 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Haitian

Which fool keeps removing "Haitian-" from "Haitian-America" in the intro? There's absolutely no reason to omit this critical of points about Wyclef, who was born in Haiti, who was raised by Haitian family, whose music reflects Haitian culture, and who has come to be an international symbol for the country.

I can only assume whichever dude keeps removing it is doing it purely to irritate me. Would you remove "Jamaican" from Bob Marley's page? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 82.7.74.130 (talk) 15:10, 24 December 2006 (UTC).

[edit] That would be me.

Yea, it's me. Simply because there is indisputable evidence that Wyclef Jean was actually born in Brooklyn by unknown parents. I have the link to the website that provides the evidence. I'll see if I can find it and give it to you. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 67.101.152.51 (talk) 02:53, 3 January 2007 (UTC).

Sounds like crackpot conspiracy theory to me mate, the internet and media is effectively unanimous in placing his brith in Croix-des-Bouquets, just outside of PdP.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 82.7.74.130 (talk) 14:36, 3 January 2007 (UTC).

[edit] Haitia

I dont think kids in Haitia have da money to buy the CD's. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 67.101.135.232 (talk) 20:02, 3 January 2007 (UTC).

[edit] Problem with photo-bio-box thing

Wyclef's photo-bio-box thing says "Died: still alive". That's a bit meaningless isn't it?
138.243.129.4 01:45, 5 February 2007 (UTC)

I've removed the "this article needs an infobox" warning, since it has one, which I've just checked for accuracy. Cloudz679 23:12, 25 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] NPR Trivia Fact

I've done some research into the trivia statement that Wyclef told NPR that he is a lawyer and cannot find any evidence of this. I've been to the NPR archives and can't even find an interview with Wyclef. The fact should either have a citation or should be deleted. Tkmckenzie22 03:13, 11 May 2007 (UTC)

It appears as though noone can support this trivia fact, so I am going to delete it. If you do have evidence that it is true, please repost it with proper citation.Tkmckenzie22 01:55, 15 May 2007 (UTC)
