Wyberslegh Hall

Coordinates: 53°21′58″N 2°03′22″W / 53.366, -2.056 Wyberslegh Hall (sometimes spelled Wybersley Hall) is a large house dating from the 16th century, on the edge of the village of High Lane near Stockport, Greater Manchester, UK. Now in private ownership, Wyberslegh Hall was formerly the home of eldest sons of the Bradshaw family. Of unusual design, it has castellated gables with a rather ungainly castellated wall between them, above the main entrance. Hardly a handsome house but an historic one. As Wyberslegh Hall was rented from the Stanley family before Marple Hall was purchased in 1606, it is likely that John Bradshaw was born there in 1602. More recently, the author Christopher Isherwood was born there.

The hall was designated a Grade II listed building in 1967.[1]
