WXMC is a Morris County, New Jersey area radio station which signed on in 1982 under its current call-letters. The station is woned by James Chladek. They broadcast a Spanish Tropical format and is mostly automated.

The station's first incarnation on the 1310am frequency was WQTK in the late 1960's. The station offereda Top 40 format and wasa daytimer only authorized to sign off after dark at 6 p.m.. In 1978 the station became WBIO and offered an adult contemporary format. The station began to have financial problems in 1979 and in 1981 went dark.
The station was sold and became WXMC in October of 1982. The station then offered a traditional big band and adult standards format playing the hits of the 1930's and 1940's wilt some very traditional standards from the 1950's and a handful of non rock songs from the late 1950's and early 1960's. The station still had financial problems and again went silent in May of 1983. The station is again sold and put back on the air in March of 1984. At that point the station offered and adult contemporary music format.
After more financial problems, WXMC flipped to a standards format called Music Of Your Life in January of 1985. The station played the hits of the 1930's, 1940's and early 1950's, as well as non rock songs from the 1950's, 1960's and 1970's. The station also played alimited amount of "soft rock". Under this format, the station prospered and pulled high ratings. The station was successful until it was sold in 1989. By the end of 1990, financial problems again set in. In 1991, they even lost phone service. That spring, the station went into recievership and an effort was made to keep the station afloat. Phone service was restored but financial difficulties continued to plague the station. WXMC was sold again in the summer of 1992.
That fall, WXMC segued into an adult contemporary format. In the summer of 1993, WXMC began selling airtime for infomercials and fortune tellers. By 1995, the station was brokered full-time. They also began to remain on the air 24 hours a day. In January of 1996, the station was sold and flipped to Spanish Adult Contemporary. The station evolved into a Tropical format a few years later. Currently WXMC broadcasts Spanish programming and prior to that they simulcast Tarot Card readings and other programming from WNYX-LP a low-power television station in New York City.
