[edit] History

102.1 was known as WSEV-FM (co-owned with WSEV-AM 930 in Sevierville) in its early years and was automated. (The current WSEV-FM, adult contemporary "Mix 105.5" in Gatlinburg, is completely unrelated to today's 102.1.) In the early 1980s, it became "U-102" with new call letters, WMYU. It played adult comtemporary and country music in its first years. They played adult contemporary music thereafter. In the mid to late 1990s, they switched to oldies as "Oldies 102". A few years later, "Oldies 102" moved to 93.1 while "Star 93.1" moved to its current dial position, 102.1 playing modern hit music.
