WVRK (102.9 FM) is a radio station broadcasting a Album Oriented Rock format.[1] Licensed to Columbus, Georgia, USA, the station serves the Auburn, Alabama, area. The station is currently owned by Clear Channel Communications (as CC Licenses) and features programing from Premiere Radio Networks.[2]

Don R. Vaughan, Ph.D. in Mass Communication at Mississippi State University, recalls having an imaginary radio station when he was eleven or twelve years old. "I used to practice deejaying," Vaughan said. "The call letters I thought of were W-V-R-K. I thought those calls were so cool, and no other station at the time (1969) had them. My station was The Big 79, WVRK."[citation needed]
