WVIA-FM is the National Public Radio member station for Northeastern Pennsylvania. It is licensed to Scranton, and broadcasts on the FM dial at 89.9 MHz. WVIA is owned by the Northeastern Pennsylvania Educational Television Association along with its sister television station, WVIA-TV. The station's studios are based in Jenkins Township, near Pittston, with transmitter just south of Wilkes-Barre. Since 2001, it has operated a full-time satellite in Williamsport, WVYA-FM.

WVIA-FM signed on in 1973.
