Wunderwaffen is German for "wonder weapon", and was a term assigned during World War II by the Nazi propaganda ministry to a few revolutionary "superweapons". These weapons were to turn the tide of war, and are not to be confused with Vergeltungswaffen, or vengeance weapons. The difference is that wunderwaffen are tactical battlefield weapons, whereas vergeltungswaffen were strategic theatre weapons.
