WUMB-FM (91.9 FM) in Boston, Massachusetts) is the radio station of University of Massachusetts Boston, and broadcasts an adult album alternative music format known as "the WUMB music mix".[1] The station has received many awards for its previous folk music programming.[2]

WUMB can be heard throughout Massachusetts on repeater signals owned and operated by the UMass in Worcester (WBPR 91.9 FM), Newburyport (WNEF 91.7 FM), Falmouth (WFPB 91.9 FM), and Orleans (WFPB 1170 AM). WUMB-FM can also be heard on the Internet and through the iTunes radio tuner service.

WFPB was originally a sister station of WKPE-FM until it was donated to UMass in 1999 by its then-owner, Grancam Communications.

WUMB-FM is noncommercial and operates as a United States-style public radio station, and also carries some NPR programming.

Each year since 1997, WUMB sponsored a live folk festival held at the University of Massachusetts, Boston called the Boston Folk Festival.[3]
