Wu Chang-shih (Wu Changshou) (18431927) was a Chinese painter, illustrator and author. From a relatively humble background in northwestern Zhejiang, his talents allowed him to pass the first level exams and to study the classics. Settling in Shanghai, he established a wide network of artist friends, and was a founding member of the Yuyuan Shuhua Shanhui (The Yu Garden Charitable Association of Calligraphers and Painters). His work also made its appearance in Japan.
