"This left Savannah with no real outlet for classical music" (until April 1981, I would say.)

I believe that they were starving for a fine arts station in Savannah from the late 1970's until 1981, I have no idea that city recieves the "faint" signal from PBS radio stations from Charleston, South Carolina and Jacksonville, Florida.
