WSMB (680 AM) is a commercial radio station located in Memphis, Tennessee. WSMB airs sports radio programming branded as "Fox Sports Radio 680". It also airs the Jim Rome Show, and the Dan Patrick Show. As of the 2007 baseball season, WSMB has become the home of St. Louis Cardinals broadcasts in the Memphis area. It also broadcasts Tennessee Volunteers football and basketball games.[1]
The station's license is currently held by Entercom Communications. It is one of six radio properties in the Memphis market held by Entercom; the others are WMC-FM, WRVR-FM, WMC-AM, WSNA-FM, and WMFS-FM. WSMB maintains studios in the Entercom complex in eastern Memphis.
The station picked up the historic WSMB from New Orleans' Entercom-owned 1350 AM in November of 2006 when it was resigned as WWWL. Previous call signs include WWTQ (01/28/2005), WJCE (11/26/1993), WOGY (06/14/1993), and WEZI (02/21/1992).[2]
