WSIE-FM is the all jazz format in the Greater St. Louis area. It is a non-commercial public radio station and an affiliate of National Public Radio. WSIE-FM is a 50,000-watt station (88.7FM), owned and operated by Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville, Illinois. WSIE-FM broadcast from its studios on the campus of Southern Illinois University.
WSIE has always been a training ground for students. Among broadcasters who received training at WSIE are Frank O. Pinion (John Craddock), Ralph Graczak, Tom Calhoun, Dewayne Staats, Paul Schankmann, Elizabeth Erwin, Steve Jankowski, Sara Wojcicki, Frank Akers (WSIE's current general manager), Tom Dehner (WSIE's current news director) and Tom Casey.
