WSEE-TV is a CBS-affiliated television station with its studios at 1220 Peach Street in downtown Erie, Pennsylvania. WSEE's Channel 35 transmits a 1170 kW signal from a tower on Peach Street in nearby Summit Township. WSEE-DT broadcasts a digital signal in Erie on Channel 16 at 75 kW of power with equipment acquired from Axcera. [2] WSEE is owned by Lilly Broadcasting [3] and has been operated since 2002 under a local marketing agreement (LMA) by Lilly-linked SJL Broadcast Management, the owner of Erie's NBC affiliate WICU-TV.[4]
WSEE-TV's broadcast signal covers Erie, Warren and Crawford counties in Pennsylvania and reaches east to Jamestown, New York, west to Ashtabula, Ohio, north to London, Ontario, and Hamilton, Ontario, and south to Clarion, Pennsylvania. The station can also be seen via satellite in North America and the Caribbean through C band. It is also available in Costa Rica through one of the country's major cable TV providers, Cabletica.

WSEE 35 began broadcasting a television signal in Erie on 24 April 1954 as a CBS affiliate. [5]
ABC programming was broadcast in Erie by WSEE and WICU until ABC affiliate WJET-TV signed on in 1966.
UPN content was broadcast on weekends by WSEE from 1995 to 2006, when UPN and The WB merged to become The CW. The CW is now narrowcast on local cable television channel and an OTA digital side channel at 16.2 WBEP, which is jointly operated by WSEE and WICU. [6]
[edit] Primetime 24
WSEE has been part of the Primetime 24 lineup since November 1997, when it replaced Raleigh's WRAL-TV due to that station's regular preemptions of CBS programming. The Primetime 24 service provides American network TV service to C-Band viewers in Latin America, the Caribbean, and in rural parts of the US where local signals are not available. WSEE's PT24 feed varies from the local Erie feed, in which local commercials are replaced with ads directed towards the Caribbean (especially direct response ads). Also, WSEE's local newscasts are replaced with infomercials, though there's a pre-taped, brief Caribbean weather forecast by WSEE's weather staff (often in tropical garb) at 11PM ET.

WSEE was carried on Rogers Cable in London up until September 2005. The station was replaced by Detroit's WWJ-TV. The station was also offered on many cable systems in the Hamilton, Niagara and Grand River regions. The station was dropped in these areas in the early 1990s WSEE is still available on some cable systems in Canada that serve communities on Lake Erie.
