[edit] History

WSAW signed on the air on October 23, 1954, as WSAU-TV, an affiliate of all four networks at the time (CBS, ABC, DuMont, and NBC). By 1965, WAOW signed on as the local ABC affiliate, and in 1966 would lose NBC when WAEO-TV (now WJFW-TV) signed on from Rhinelander. That left WSAU with CBS, its current affiliation. In 1981, the station changed its call letters to WSAW-TV after its owners sold the AM and FM sister stations. In the Fall of 2006, they added MyNetworkTV to its DT2 subcarrier.[1] WSAW-TV adopted their own stylized version of the circle 7 logo in 2006 to replace their square 7 logo.
