Wrights Lake is in the Sierra Nevada mountain range, to the west of Lake Tahoe and on the western border of the Desolation Wilderness. It can be reached via Wrights Lake Road off U.S. Route 50. It provides excellent access to the western portions of the Desolation Wilderness via the Twin Lakes trailhead, but Wrights Lake Road is not plowed for snow and is therefore inaccessible during the winter.
