The wicket-keeper hails from Saktigarh, Siliguri in North Bengal. He also made the East Zone team in the Duleep Trophy In 2007-2008 season.He made his First class List A (One Day ) debut against Assam at Cuttack in Feb 2007 . And He made his Debut in Ranji Trophy In November 2007 and Scored an unbeaten 111 with a strike rate of 57.21 and become the 15th Bengal player to score a hundred on Ranji debut.
