The Evening Leader is a daily evening paper distributed on week nights. It combines local and national news in order to create an above-average evening newspaper.

It costs 40 pence and is produced from Mold industrial site. It is owned by North Wales Newspapers group and has a wide circulation. The paper has lent its name to a variety of campaigns and has given continual support to the Wrexham A.F.C.

On weekends, the Wrexham Leader is produced, which is a free edition, but it heavily laden with advertisements and commercials for local businesses.

There are three Evening Leader Papers in the north-east of Wales and the borders: Chester, Flintshire, and Wrexham.

On 3rd April 2006, the Leader underwent a style change, and changed its logo to a new, more modern style. The old font and style had been used since the newspaper began.

Yearly, a directory of local businesses is given out (around early April), called the Handy Pages.
