[edit] History
Wreckless Media Radio was formerly known as Not Another Tech Podcast and started in December of 2005. It was created and hosted by Brian Berris and was co-hosted by Joe Gomez. Not Another Tech Podcast ('NATP' for short) was a tech news podcast that added humor into it's format. The first 20 Episodes were recorded in a studio at Brian's work on Thursdays (first 5 episodes were recorded on Friday). After a steady increase in listeners they decided to build their own studio so they would not have to borrow the equipment and studio space from Brian's work place. They also needed a place where they could be less reserved.
After investing the money and time, they had their own studio. After moving into the new studio the shows slowly became more entertaining and popular due to Brian's outlandish behavior and Joe's knowledge of technology. 3 Months later NATP was picked up by Internet radio broadcaster group, TPXRadio. The show then went live and became an internet radio show along with being a podcast.
Slowly the show had turned less technology based and more comedy based.
At show 50, Joe left the program due to time constraints. After Joe's departure, Brian brought in long time friends Greg and Bryan to take over. With the change of cast, technology was no longer the basis and the title was holding back the success of the show. Taking this into consideration, Brian changed the name to Wreckless Media Radio ('WMR' for short). WMR is a name based on an old website Brian and Evil Greg used to run simply called Wreckless Media, that featured amateur sketch comedy videos made by the two.
Vidcasts Once the new website was launched they began putting out their usual podcasts (which were now all comedy) but also released vidcasts. The first vidcasts released were the old videos made by Brian and Greg. The more recent ones are new sketch comedy videos and in-studio vidcasts of the radio show.
"Regular Callers"
In the early days of the show, the hosts decided to call someone random with a popular VOIP software. The first person to be called turned out to be musically creative and composed and recorded several ending theme songs for the show. He is known on the show as the G.P.M., an abbreviation for "German Porn Master". The G.P.M. has been reading Huckleberry Finn to the listeners and recorded a song about Evil Greg which was premiered on the show's 100th episode on February 21, 2008.
