[edit] This needs better or clearer examples

I came to this page by searching "assumable" because I kept seeing it pop up in home listings (generally saying "not assumable"), but as a novice homebuyer who's just starting to look, I find this article gives me very little sense of how any of this works. The article needs to be written such that people who've never had a mortgage of any kind can understand it; right now, it seems to be one step short of "lawyerspeak," as if someone had tried to clarify but without success.
