WQUE was originally the FM sister of WDSU-TV until 1971, when it was sold to new owners who turned it into a Beautiful music outlet. By the late 1970s it switched to Top 40 and adopted the Q93 handle, which they continue with today after they evolved to its current format in 1987. Q93 is one of the most popular station among African-American Youth in the New Orleans area. Recently, it is now the home of the Steve Harvey Morning Show.
