I lived in this area for, well, years. I can't make the jpeg match anything about the Gallatin valley or river, or the West Gallatin/East Gallatin rivers (there really is both a West and East Gallatin river). It looks a little like a map I once saw that showed where they thought the Gallatin flowed before the Bridger Mts rose (ie flowed east, rather then north to Three Forks) I suspect the source of the JPEG is either not accurate or badly done. But since I can't find the source..... I can't tell Ralph 24Feb06
