Usage
Project banner
The {{WPAVIATION}} project banner template should be added (not subst:ed) to the talk page of every article within the scope of the project. While the template does not require any additional parameters, it has some optional ones that add extra features to the banner. The full syntax is as follows:
{{WPAVIATION |small= |nested= |class= |A-Class= |peer-review= |old-peer-review= |collaboration-candidate= |current-collaboration= |past-collaboration= |attention= |needs-infobox= |Imageneeded= |Imagedetails= <!-- B-Class checklist --> <!-- 1. It is suitably referenced, and all major points are appropriately cited. --> |B-Class-1= <!-- 2. It reasonably covers the topic, and does not contain major omissions or inaccuracies. --> |B-Class-2= <!-- 3. It has a defined structure, including a lead section and one or more sections of content. --> |B-Class-3= <!-- 4. It is free from major grammatical errors. --> |B-Class-4= <!-- 5. It contains appropriate supporting materials, such as an infobox, images, or diagrams. --> |B-Class-5= <!-- Portals --> |portal-link= <!-- Task forces (general topics) --> |Aircraft= |Airports= |Airlines= |Gliding= |Rotorcraft= |Air-sports= |Defunct= |Accident= }}
General parameters:
- small – "yes" if the banner should be rendered in its miniature size; this should be used sparingly and only on crowded talk pages for the time being.
- nested – "yes" if the banner is being used in conjunction with {{WikiProjectBannerShell}}.
- class – a rating of the article's quality; see the assessment department for more details.
- A-Class – indicates the status of the article's A-Class review, if any; see the review department for more details.
- peer-review – "yes" if the article is currently listed for peer review by the project; see the review department for more details.
- old-peer-review – "yes" if the article was previously listed for peer review by the project; see the review department for more details.
- collaboration-candidate – "yes" if the article is currently a candidate for the project's Collaboration of the Fortnight.
- current-collaboration – "yes" if the article is the project's current Collaboration of the Fortnight.
- past-collaboration – if the article was previously a Collaboration of the Fortnight, the dash-separated dates of the collaboration period; must be left blank otherwise.
- attention – "yes" if the article requires immediate attention; see Category:Aviation articles needing attention for more details on when this should be used.
- needs-infobox – "yes" if the article needs an infobox added or updated; see Category:Aviation articles needing infoboxes
- Imageneeded - The article needs an image (other than a map); adds articles to Category:Aviation articles needing images.
- Imagedetails (appears only if Imageneeded is set to yes) - Additional details to describe the image that is requested.
B-Class checklist (available only for articles rated as "Stub-Class", "Start-Class", or "B-Class"—see the assessment department for more details):
- B-Class-1 – "yes" if the article meets criterion #1 for B-Class status; "no" if it does not.
- B-Class-2 – "yes" if the article meets criterion #2 for B-Class status; "no" if it does not.
- B-Class-3 – "yes" if the article meets criterion #3 for B-Class status; "no" if it does not.
- B-Class-4 – "yes" if the article meets criterion #4 for B-Class status; "no" if it does not.
- B-Class-5 – "yes" if the article meets criterion #5 for B-Class status; "no" if it does not.
- portal-link – if the article is used in the Aviation Portal, the portal subpage location where the article may be found on the portal. This should be given as a pure unlinked subpage name; thus, Portal:Aviation/Selected Aircraft/January is given as "|portal-link=Selected Aircraft/January".
- Aircraft-project (or Aircraft) – "yes" if the article is supported by the Aircraft project.
- Airports-project (or Airports) – "yes" if the article is supported by the Airports project.
- Airlines-project (or Airlines) – "yes" if the article is supported by the Airlines project.
- Gliding-project (or Gliding) – "yes" if the article is supported by the Gliding project.
- Rotorcraft-task-force (or Rotorcraft) – "yes" if the article is supported by the Rotorcraft task force.
- Air-sports-task-force (or Air-sports) – "yes" if the article is supported by the Air sports task force.
- Defunct-Airlines-project (or Defunct) - "yes" if the article is supported by the Defunct Airlines project.
- Accident-task-force (or Accident) – "yes" if the article is supported by the Aviation accident task force.
To avoid needlessly cluttering up talk pages, it is usually appropriate to remove any unused parameters from the template.
