The {{WPAVIATION}} project banner template should be added (not subst:ed) to the talk page of every article within the scope of the project. While the template does not require any additional parameters, it has some optional ones that add extra features to the banner. The full syntax is as follows:

General parameters:

B-Class checklist (available only for articles rated as "Stub-Class", "Start-Class", or "B-Class"—see the assessment department for more details):

Portals:

  • portal-link – if the article is used in the Aviation Portal, the portal subpage location where the article may be found on the portal. This should be given as a pure unlinked subpage name; thus, Portal:Aviation/Selected Aircraft/January is given as "|portal-link=Selected Aircraft/January".

Projects and Task forces:

  • Aircraft-project (or Aircraft) – "yes" if the article is supported by the Aircraft project.
  • Airports-project (or Airports) – "yes" if the article is supported by the Airports project.
  • Airlines-project (or Airlines) – "yes" if the article is supported by the Airlines project.
  • Gliding-project (or Gliding) – "yes" if the article is supported by the Gliding project.
  • Rotorcraft-task-force (or Rotorcraft) – "yes" if the article is supported by the Rotorcraft task force.
  • Air-sports-task-force (or Air-sports) – "yes" if the article is supported by the Air sports task force.
  • Defunct-Airlines-project (or Defunct) - "yes" if the article is supported by the Defunct Airlines project.
  • Accident-task-force (or Accident) – "yes" if the article is supported by the Aviation accident task force.

To avoid needlessly cluttering up talk pages, it is usually appropriate to remove any unused parameters from the template.
