[edit] places

Is there a parameter for Wikipedia:WikiProject Australian places? --Scott Davis Talk 12:26, 15 July 2006 (UTC)

place=yes -- Longhair\talk 05:21, 13 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] V8=yes seems broken

I put V8=yes on Talk:Dick Johnson (Australian auto racing), but it didn't seem to do anything. --Scott Davis Talk 06:49, 16 July 2006 (UTC)

It's working now Scott. I've added support for both the V8 and v8 parameter. -- Longhair 03:22, 28 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Sports parameters

Are the sports= param and the more specific params like V8= mutually exclusive or what?

e.g. does an article with V8=yes need to have sports=yes, must it not have sports=yes, or doesn't it matter? --kingboyk 14:13, 16 September 2006 (UTC)

V8=yes can happilly exist without parentage of sports=yes. Only one parameter in the curent template is required, ie, sports=yes or v8 =yes are both fine without one or the other in place. -- Longhair 14:25, 16 September 2006 (UTC)
Is the answer I wanted to hear :) Means I don't need any logic for dealing with these params. Excellent. --kingboyk 14:29, 16 September 2006 (UTC)

nbl/NBL parameter. Hundreds/thousands of articles that will be bot tagged using my plugin? Or a param for me to ignore? (New params only need to be added to the plugin if the plugin needs to write them; any params it doesn't know it ignores). Will add if needed, of course. --kingboyk 13:15, 5 October 2006 (UTC)

I was going to let you know when I had some time to look at size of the new project myself. If you could add support for the NBL project for completness sake that'd be great. I don't think there's any more articles than a few hundred at least, but I'm only guessing at this stage.
I've been playing with your plugin as well of late here at home and doing some testing, but haven't had much undistracted time to really give it the go *live* that I'd like. That's coming. :) -- Longhair\talk 13:23, 5 October 2006 (UTC)
Parameters which are functionally the same are liable to cause breakage as currently programmed ("V8", "v8"; "NBL", "nbl"). However I'll put some extra code in to deal with this situation. Please in future either refrain from having these or make sure I know :) --kingboyk 18:35, 6 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Limiting size

Could the comments section be hidden as per the To-Do section? I'd do it myself but for the fear of angering the complex beast.--cj | talk 06:56, 11 October 2006 (UTC)

I think the comments section is a companion alongside article assessments. Would it serve any benefit to hide this functionality by default? To shrink the template on overcrowded talk pages, try the small=yes parameter, which shrinks the template to almost userbox-sizing, and aligns it to the right. See Talk:Steve Irwin for an example. -- Longhair\talk 12:02, 15 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] To-do

Any reason why it's been unhidden? Orderinchaos 09:54, 14 January 2007 (UTC)

The show/hide button has been removed, or disabled. This template hasn't received any recent edits though, so the offending edit must have occured on another template. -- Longhair\talk 01:41, 15 January 2007 (UTC)
Yeah that was the first place I looked :) Thanks for that. Orderinchaos 02:43, 15 January 2007 (UTC)
It seems every template Wikipedia-wide with similar functionality is broken. Some examples are {{Bellarine Peninsula}}, {{Australian Senators}}... Both had show/hide drop down menu functionality. -- Longhair\talk 10:37, 15 January 2007 (UTC)
These are all working fine for me. Have been all day. Hesperian 10:51, 15 January 2007 (UTC)
I'm using Mozilla Firefox 1.5.0.9 and it's broken. I just tried IE 6 and you guessed it, the menus are working. Weird indeed. -- Longhair\talk 10:54, 15 January 2007 (UTC)
WFM on Firefox 2.0.0.1. Hesperian 11:37, 15 January 2007 (UTC)
I've not changed a thing concerning the above, and they're working again :) -- Longhair\talk 11:44, 15 January 2007 (UTC)
I just checked and they weren't working for me (FF2.0.0.1). Then I did a Show preview before saving this edit and now they are (now working)! Someone is playing with a template somewhere. —Moondyne 11:53, 15 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Moderator Attention re Flag Picture on Template

The link to the Flag appears to be broken - I think it's the SVG file, which often don't show up. Can we please have it back (try a JPEG or PNG format), or else replace it with something that doesn't look ridiculous like the word "Flag"? JROBBO 12:51, 18 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Wikiproject Townsville

Hi, can somebody who knows what their doing please explain to me how I can create or add a Wikiproject city specific tag for Wikiproject Townsville. Thanks! WikiTownsvillian 10:50, 23 January 2007 (UTC)

Done. -- Longhair\talk 13:32, 30 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Template bloated with WikiProject Australia To-do

I think the template is too bloated with the WikiProject Australia To-do at the bottom even though it can be turned off. Do others agree? Can it be removed?--Golden Wattle talk 23:18, 1 February 2007 (UTC)

Also if somebody comes to an article talk page, they don't need to be sent off to do other tasks - a link to the project is enough of a prompt if they are browsing for inspiration of how to fill in their time. Thus not only is it too large and fills the talk page with something not relevant to the given article, I don't think it is appropriate.--Golden Wattle talk 23:22, 1 February 2007 (UTC)
I agree that there's scope for reducing the banner's obtrusiveness, but I don't necessarily see that the to-do list is a problem. It is defaulted to hide and is only expanded by individual users looking for tasks.--cj | talk 23:30, 1 February 2007 (UTC)
I must have clicked on it accidentally at Talk:Ariah Park, New South Wales (and it has now disappeared) - I still think even though disappeared we invite people to the project several times and it is too much for something not directly relevant to the article itself. --Golden Wattle talk 23:47, 1 February 2007 (UTC)
Actually, after catching up on some relevant arguments at WP:COUNCIL, I tend agree that we should keep out all un-necessary meta-data and limit it to data which is, as you say, pertinent to the article itself.--cj | talk 01:44, 2 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Wikipedia:WikiProject Riverina

Could we please have a parameter to support Wikipedia:WikiProject Riverina, a sub project of Wikipedia:WikiProject Australian places. Could the icon please be - ie [[Image:DogonTuckerbox.jpg|40px]] Thanks --Golden Wattle talk 23:26, 14 February 2007 (UTC)

done. -- usage --- add Riverina=yes ... Gnangarra 04:38, 15 February 2007 (UTC)
