Worthing and District Football League

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Worthing and District Football League is a football competition based in Sussex, England, currently known as the Ian Hart Funeral Service Worthing & District Football League after its main sponsor.

It has a Premier Division, which sits at step 7 of the National League System (level 11 of the overall English football league system), with Divisions One, Two and Three beneath it. The top club in the Premier Division is eligible for promotion to the Sussex County Football League Division Three, while the bottom club will get relegated to Division One. Because of the irregular nature of the pyramid in Sussex, the Worthing and District League is effectively at level 12 despite its official Step 7/level 11 status.

The Premier Division started with 8 clubs for the 2007-08 season, but after the resignation of A.F.C. Court & Smith, only 7 remain. Across the four divisions, no less than five teams have resigned during the 2007-08 season.
