The World Trade Centre Residence is a 38-floor tower in the Dubai International Convention Centre in Dubai, United Arab Emirates that opened in 2008.[1] The tower has a total structural height of 158 m (518 ft). The building is a five-star residential tower[2] alongside the Dubai World Trade Centre, Dubai's first high-rise building. Construction of the foundation began in August 2005 and by early 2006, the building was rising.[3] The building sits on the site of the old World Trade Centre Hotel.[2] The demolition of the World Trade Centre Hotel, which took place on 1 April 2005, was the second time a building in Dubai was demolished.[4]
