The World Pizza Championship is an event held every year to determine the world's best pizza makers. It is organized by the magazine Pizza e Pasta Italiana. Pizzas are judged by preparation, taste, and proper cooking. Pizza competitions include: acrobatics, fastest, freestyle, and largest. Salsomaggiore Terme (Parma), Italy, is the site of the championships.

In 2006 the American Pizza Team - "The World Pizza Champions" won 6 medals at the World Pizza Championship. The team won the Gold Medal in the Team Acrobatic competition, while individual members (Siler Chapman, Giorgio Giove, Michael Shepherd, Bruno DiFabio) captured silver and bronze awards in Individual Acrobatic, Largest, Fastest, and also the Best Pizza of North America.
