World Literacy Crusade

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

World Literacy Crusade (WLC) is a non-profit group fighting illiteracy formed in 1992 by the Rev. Alfreddie Johnson.[1] The group utilizes "study technologies" and "drug rehabilitation technologies" developed by L. Ron Hubbard, the science fiction author and founder of the Church of Scientology. WLC has been criticized for being a deceptive marketing tool intended to get Scientology programs into schools without disclosing its close ties with the Church of Scientology.[2][3]
