World Games Stadium is a multi-use stadium in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, that is currently under construction. Once completed in 2009, it will be used mostly for athletics and rugby events, including hosting the main events for the 2009 World Games. The stadium will have a capacity of 55,000 people. After the games the stadium will likely be used for some Chinese Taipei national football team matches.
The stadium, designed by Japanese architect Toyo Ito, makes use of solar energy to provide it's power needs. [1]
