World Cricket League EAP region

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The World Cricket League EAP region is the East-Asia Pacific regional tournament for the International Cricket Council's World Cricket League tournament.

[edit] History

So far, only one tournament has been played as part of the World Cricket League structure, the 2006 ICC EAP Cricket Trophy in Brisbane, Australia in June/July 2006. Fiji won the tournament ahead of the Cook Islands and Japan. Fiji thus qualified for Division Three of the global World Cricket League tournaments.[1]

[edit] Future

The 2007 ICC EAP Cricket Trophy is set to take place in Auckland, New Zealand in November/December 2007. Teams taking part will be the Cook Islands, Indonesia, Japan, Samoa, Tonga and Vanuatu.[2] The top two teams from this tournament will qualify for Division Five of the World Cricket League in Jersey in May 2008.[3]
