World Chess Championship 1927

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The 1927 World Chess Championship was played between José Raúl Capablanca and Alexander Alekhine. It was played in Buenos Aires from September 16 to November 29, 1927. Alekhine, a Russian, became a naturalised French citizen three days before the match.

The first player to win six games would be World Champion.

It has been suggested that if it reached 5-5 the incumbent (Capablanca) would win, but it is unclear whether this is the case.[1]
